Main Office – Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne
Role: To manage the operation and development of Recyke Y’Bike in line with decisions of Trustees and its business plan, while maintaining its ethos and environmental vision.
This is an opportunity for a committed manager to build on our record of achievements and help Trustees steer the charity through a crucial and exciting period in its development.
Recyke y’ bike is a highly successful charity which has grown steadily over its 12 years of operation to play a key role in sustainable transport in the North East of England. We have a mission to get people cycling safely and affordably on re-used bicycles.
Our team of 11 trained mechanics and 40 volunteers fix up bikes donated by the public for resale and provide a growing maintenance and repair service. Most refurbished bikes are sold at affordable prices to the public in our three retail outlets in Byker, Newcastle City Centre and in Durham.
Bike sales & servicing raise funds for charitable purposes, enable our operation and also finance the donation of bikes to low income groups of people including young people, refugees and through international partner projects in Africa.
Please see below for an application form and further information. This role is a full-time post (37 hours), although we would consider applicants looking to work as little as 30 hours on a pro-rata basis. Applicants can, if they wish, submit a brief letter in support of their application.
Closing date for applications noon 9th July 2018. Interviews are planned for Thursday 26th July 2018.
